After that, she relocated to Minnesota where she was scouted for Drop Dead Gorgeous, a mock documentary film that explored beauty contests. Then, in Los Angeles, she pursued acting after her debut film in which she portrayed a dizzy but friendly contestant. Also, she raised Kelly Curtis, Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh, who was introduced to her by the actress Norma Shearer Leigh signed a deal with MGM to begin her career as a film star in the late 1940s. In the 1960s, Leigh starred in films that were popular, including Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho as well as Living It Up.
